“Better Love” is the new single from R&B crooner Chris Deep. His music has been compared to that of Usher or super group, Boys II Men. The smooth styling and poignant lyrics reflect a soulful man who understands passion, something he believes was instilled in him by his family and experience abroad. The Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant has maintained both an active duty schedule and his musical career, showing that with perseverance and passion people can make their own dreams a reality.
“The motivation that keeps me going is my father (Coater B DeBose) who passed away 5 years ago while serving his country in the Army in Afghanistan,” says Deep. “My father always told me ‘If you’re going to do something always give it your all and be the best at it. No one is going to hire you for doing a half job or take you seriously if you’re not.’”
Deep has made a name for himself on the independent music scene and believes his latest track and video exemplify his style and will allow fans and new listeners to understand who is and what he’s about. The gorgeous video was shot in Okinawa where he continues to serve as an active duty Marine. Deep for his part hopes that what he’s doing with his service and his music will help keep his father’s memory alive, “To this day I see him in me and all of my drives is to make it to the top. I hope that what I’m doing honors his memory.”
